Description: A sensibilidade à instabilidade de vertentes em Portugal continental foi avaliada com recurso a um método estatístico bivariado de base Bayesiana: o Valor Informativo (VI) (Zêzere et al. 2018). O modelo considerou 7 fatores de predisposição: declive, altitude, índice de posição topográfica, litologia, tipo de solo, unidades ecológicas, e água disponível (precipitação – evapotranspiração potencial). Como variável dependente utilizou-se um inventário de movimentos de massa em vertentes que conta com 7387 ocorrências, identificadas com trabalho de campo e interpretação de fotografias aéreas, em 14 áreas amostra no território português, que cobrem uma superfície total de 11.547 km2 (13% da área total de Portugal continental) e são consideradas representativas da variedade geológica e geomorfológica de Portugal (Zêzere et al., 2018). O modelo de suscetibilidade foi calibrado no território correspondente às 14 áreas amostra, cruzando os movimentos de massa em vertentes com os fatores de predisposição da instabilidade de vertentes classificados e estabelecendo o peso das classes de cada fator com recurso à primeira equação do método do Valor Informativo (Yin & Yan, 1988; Zêzere, 2002).
